Cochran's Annual Arts and Crafts Festival to be held in October. Cochran Christmas Parade - Always Held the First Friday in December! The BIKING BLECKLEY Metric 100 Usually held the Last Saturday in February Biking Bleckley Metric 100 is an annual event which takes place on the third Saturday in February. It is a bike ride over the rural, country roads of Middle Georgia; perfect for families and new cyclists, as well as experienced riders. Supported with maps, refreshment breaks, and local law enforcement. All roads are in very good condition and are flat to moderate rolling hills. The Metric 100 is a big loop with other routes branching off and heading back to the start. Last week in March. SOUTHEASTERN CUSHMAN CLUB 26th Anniversary! The SECC is a family oriented club that is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of vintage Cushman motor scooters. The Southeastern Cushman Club and the Cochran-Bleckey Chamber of Commerce always have lots of activities planned for Cushman Week. Cushman Motor Scooters One of the most famous Cushmans was the model 53, a military model from the World War II era. It was designed to be dropped by parachute with Army Airborne troops, so the motor scooter became known as the Cushman Airborne. They were also used around military bases for messenger service. Twice a year we have the Bluegrass Festival in Cochran, Georgia. The Spring Bluegrass Festival takes place in May and the Fall Bluegrass festival will be in September! The Woods Golf Course & RV Park is a 27-hole public golf course. 9-holes links style. 18-holes rolling terrain with lots of trees. Fishing at the Lake Come explore our Ocmulgee Public Fishing Area! It is a 106 acre lake stocked with crappie, largemouth bass, bream and catfish. It is intensively managed to maximize fishing success. Due to its unique location and close proximity to the Ocmulgee River, this area offers many opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. It is a great place for a family outing and has picnic tables, restrooms, fishing piers, and concrete boat ramps.
